Our Pet Wellness Services

We offer wellness care services to maintain your pet’s good health from one year to the next. Whatever they need, we can provide it for them. Our services include the following:

The Wellness Exam

Wellness exams generally include a thorough physical exam, a discussion of your pet’s lifestyle, environment, diet, behavior, and other habits, vaccinations, and risk of exposure to fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and internal parasites. Bring a fresh stool sample for us to check, along with any questions you have so we can address them all and adjust your pet’s treatment plan as needed.

Puppy and Kitten Care

As soon as your new puppy or kitten has been introduced into their new home, you need to schedule their first visit with us. We’ll conduct a full nose-to-tail examination, discuss their diet, exercise requirements, house training, and spaying/neutering. Be sure to bring in a fecal sample so we can check for worms. Most puppies and kittens are born with some type of intestinal parasite, so don’t be alarmed if you see something unusual in your pet’s stool.

At 6-8 weeks old, puppies and kittens can get started on their distemper boosters. We typically do a series, in which your pet will be vaccinated for distemper every 3-4 weeks until they’re 12-16 weeks old. The distemper series is essential for building up your puppy or kitten’s immunity. Rabies is given between 16 and 18 weeks.

Schedule A Wellness Exam for Your Pet

Annual or bi-annual wellness exams give us the opportunity to evaluate your pet’s current health and select the best course of treatment to meet their individual needs. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all treatment plan here in Staten Island, because no two pets are the same. Give us a call at (718) 987-7777 to schedule your pet’s wellness visit, or stop by and talk to one of our friendly receptionists. We look forward to treating your pet!
